Contrary to the news flying around today September 18, 2024, a former governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello is yet to report at the office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Abuja.

Recall that the anti-graft agency had declared Yahaya Bello wanted few months back over financial crimes running into about N80 billion, while he held sway as governor, but the former governor had gone into hiding after the Commission laid siege on his house in Abuja.
A source in Abuja revealed that the former governor released the reports flying around in the social media to test the waters as he planned to turn himself in at the EFCC office later today or tomorrow, Thursday.
“All those reports were meant to deceive members of the public. I can assure you that the former governor is yet to visit the EFCC office. He might do so later tonight or tomorrow.
“You can see the contradictions in the reports. Yahaya Bello is yet to visit the EFCC office, he hopes to do so later today or tomorrow. You will definitely be informed when this is done,” said a source.
It was reliably gathered that the former governor is running around to get a soft landing as it is clear that the EFCC is closing-in on him and he might be arrested any moment from now.
Sources insisted that it is clear that there is no hiding place for the former governor and that “the EFCC is bent on getting him arrested and prosecute him over the several allegations hanging around his neck.”
The sources added that all the pictures seen in the social media are “old pictures that are meant to deceive members of the public.”
