Why President Buhari’s Wife, Aisha, Travelled To Dubai

While there were insinuations in many quarters that the wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, Aisha travelled to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates for medical purposes, it has been reliably gathered that the Nigerian First Lady went to the popular Arabian city to shop for the wedding of her daughter, Hanan.

Sources close to the first family however, said on Monday that Mrs Buhari actually flew to Dubai in a jet belonging to billionaire Mohammed Indimi for the purposes of shopping for luxury items in preparation for the wedding of Hanan.

Dubai is a popular destination for Nigerians, especially the rich class seeking quality and expensive items for personal use and or grand ceremonies.

President Muhammadu Buhari was said to have met with the family of Hanan’s fiancée prior to the trip for further arrangements and other processes for the event.

Hanan is a graduate of Photography from Ravensbourne University, London, United Kingdom.

Recall that in July 2019, the Department of State Services arrested a young businessman based in Delta State, Athony Okolie, after he was issued a mobile number by telecommunications company MTN previously used and abandoned by Hanan.

Okolie spent 10 weeks in detention before he was finally released by the DSS.

Sources revealed that arrangements were being concluded to make the wedding ceremony talk of the town “as it is expected of the status of the nation’s first family.”
