Why Attorney General NJC Should Intervene In Osun LG Crisis

As a stakeholder in Osun State, I will like to analyse the current situation in our state and gives my own opinion..
The genesis of the problems started when the High Court sacked the APC chairmen and councilors that was elected before the end of Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola’s tenure.
The current judgement of the Court of Appeal in Akure has been the bone of contention between the ruling party in Osun State, the PDP and major opposition party APC with different interpretation to suits each party..
In a saner clime the judgement should not have caused any friction between the two political parties to degenerate to the extent of lost of many lives in the cause of implementing the Appeal Court judgement.
I believed where there’s Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation in person of Prince Lateef Fagbemi SAN, should have called the legal teams of the two parties (PDP and APC) together and appraised and brainstorming the correct interpretation of the judgement with NJC input where we have legal luminary like Chief Olanipekun..If the correct interpretation of the judgement is that APC chairmen and councilors should go back to their respective post as chairman and councilors and the option left for the PDP will be to approach the apex court that’s Supreme court to appeal the judgement and if it’s other way rounds the option for the APC as well is to appeal the judgement..
I strongly believed with the current situation of the APC chairmen and councilors took over the respective local government council the Attorney General and Minister of Justice has given them the correct interpretation of the judgement and that’s why Inspector General of Police(IGP) and other security agencies took the action to obey the rules of law and nobody can blame the Inspector General of Police IGP or any head of the security agencies for doing the legitimate duties for keeping the peace of the society..If there’s going to be blamed it’s not IGP or head of security agencies but the officer that interpret the judgement of court of Appeal to them and gave them orders as a matter of fact I don’t believed President Tinubu can unilaterally gave an order without properly briefed from the Attorney General and Minister of Justice of the Federation..
As the event unfolds with the occupied of the local government council by the APC is for the ruling party PDP to postpone the local government election by the OSSIEC because it’s invariably tell that there’s no vacancy at the local government council at moment and try to looks at how to resolve the logjams legally by going back to the court..By insists of going for the Saturday local government council election it can leads to anarchy and chaos and upon which the Federal Government can declares the state of emergency.. I’m strongly pleads with the PDP government in Osun State not to play to the antics of APC and Federal led Government as a wise counsel is enough for wise person..
