Uromi bank robberies: Police confirm recovery of N37m, 5 abandoned vehicles from fleeing robbers
The Edo State Police Command on Saturday morning confirmed the recovery of N37m suspected to be abandoned by robbers who raided four banks during Thursday’s robbery attacks in Uromi, Esan North-East Local Government Area of the state.
Mr Phillip Ogbadu, the State Commissioner of Police in the state, confirmed the reports, noting that about N37 million and five cars suspected to have been abandoned by the robbers were recovered at a bush where they were abandoned.
He added that it was suspected that the robbers might have abandoned the monies and the vehicles on realising that some youths from neigbouring Ubiaja community blocked their passage and had to abandoned their vehicles and the cash and fled on motorbikes.
