THE NIGERIAN YOUTH AND APC DISASTER.

Since inception of the All Progressive Congress APC government at the center in 2015, the youths of this country has been on the receiving end of the mal-administration, economic downturn, unemployment, sky-bound inflation and despondency.

The population of this country is relatively a very young population which ordinarily should translate to economic advancement due an agile and youthful demography that the country is blessed with however, the myopic and visionless APC led administration can not harness a single opportunity that comes with having a very young population. Apc is more about the optics than real positive impact on the youths.

Very fresh in our minds were the phony, empty deceitful campaign promises churned out by APC in 2015 and amplified in 2019, vis a vis, 3million jobs, N5000 unemployment benefit, school feeding, better exchange rate to mention a few. The ruling party deceived the entire unsuspecting populace with their devilish “change” mantra. Of course, we seeing change taken to the ‘next level’, from prosperity left behind by the PDP government of Goodluck Johnathan to economic disaster, unfathomable insecurity witnessed with expanded operational bases ISWAP and Boko Haram terrorists.

The Nigerian youth has become such an endangered specie in the hands this APC government that they are killed by SARS after extortion, extra-judicially killing them, to the Lekki toll gate Massacre, to suffering Kidnaping, unending killings and pillage across the Country. They have made peaceful protests which is the legitimate right of the citizens an anathema, a death wish according to the APC government at ASO Rock. One can even rightly say, they have unwittingly or wittingly created banditry and kidnapping as model employment schemes, for the negative minded youths, especially those who follow them.

Hunger have been weaponised in the land.

The resilient
and positive thinking youths of Nigeria had no choice than to take their destinies in their hands through innovative ideas such as monetizing the use of social media, the huge rise in the numbers of comic skit makers who then turned to influencers and are able eke out decent livelihood from Google ads, Facebook ads, twitter influencers, content monetization on YouTube and the likes.

As if the All Progressives Congress ( APC) led government have not done enough in unleashing terrors on the youths, the system witnessed incessant harassment of the youths, banning of twitter in Nigeria, banning of cryptocurrency trading thereby forcing the teeming youth to regress into abject poverty, whereas the government can not provide adequate productive employment for the youths thereby bringing untoward economic hardship and restlessness on the youths.

Let us look at some critical statistics that point to the fact that urgent measures are required, if not the country a time bomb waiting to explode. The population of Nigeria is expected to hit 233million in 2025 going by the forecast made by National Population Commission with median age of 18.5 which is telling us the population is a very young population. Meanwhile, the unemployment rate in the country is 33% while youth unemployment is at an astronomical 42% high. If this trend is not halted and reversed, the economic future of this country will be disastrous.

We can’t afford to leave leadership of the country in the hands of a visionless APC whose main achievement is reckless borrowing for the youths to pay ( 35trillion as it stands presently) in the future.

The PDP is positioned more than ever to rescue this country and reposition it for greatness come 2023 through visionary leadership that will translate to economic prosperity by engaging the resourceful youths of this country productively thereby changing the narrative of youths not having a say .

Therefore, it’s time for all and sundry to join hands with People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to rebuild Nigeria and gain our respect back in the comity of Nations by taking two major steps;

1. Let us make sure we pressure the APC government to undo the banning of Twitter, and unban crypto trading that is providing means of livelihood to millions of Nigerian youths.

2. Let the Nigerain youths engage more in politics through PDP that have demonstrated the interest on the youths by the very youthful PDP Youth Leader elected recently to chase out the visionless and clueless APC come 2023.

Therefore, People’s Democratic Party is very much on course to reclaim the destroyed good governance typified by the conduct of it’s affairs and youth inclusiveness.
