The faction of the Kwankwasiyya members in Kano have expressed dissatisfaction over the Supreme Court’s verdict on Monday, reaffirming Governor Ganduje as the winner in the 2019 governorship elections.

In a statement signed by the Spokesperson to Abba K. Yusuf, the 2019 PDP Gubernatorial Candidate, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa described the state of democracy in Nigeria as unfortunate.

“Today’s judgement on the Kano governorship tussle further confirms the connivance of the allied forces of election robbery who are oppressors of the Nigerian democracy.” He said.

According to Dawakin Tofa, the Kwankwasiyya officials had earlier forwarded enough evidences before the Apex Court with full confidence that justice would be served.

“Considering the overwhelming evidences presented by the eminent team of experienced lawyers, one cannot imagine how these agents of tyranny and undemocratic principles joined hands to rob the good people of Kano their mandate.” He added.

“However, we have seen the worst of what they can do, so they should await the judgment of the Almighty Allah, which they cannot avoid.”

Recall that Justice Sylvester Ngwuta of the Supreme Court had on Monday affirmed the victory of Abdullahi Ganduje as the Governor of Kano state and dismissed the petitions forwarded to it by PDP.

FWM, recalled that the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Abba Kabir Yusuf had filed an appeal at the apex court to dispute the March 24 supplementary election held in some electoral wards in Kano State.
