Senior Pastors At War Over Edo Guber

Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu’s Campaign Organization has said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its governorship candidate in the September 19, 2020 elections in Edo State will neither be fazed nor cowed by fake news being promoted by hired hirelings of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The Ize-Iyamu Campaign Organisation said that rather than tell the electorates what quality PDP and its candidate possess to win the September polls, they had hired Reno Omokri to spread falsehood in a smear campaign planned to distract the people from the party’s internal wrangling and lack of records.

Omokri is the Pastor of the Mind of Christ Christian Center in California and Abuja.

He is also known for using social media to propagate the Gospel.

He was an aide to former president Goodluck Jonathan and has remained one of the most vicious critics of the administration of President Muhammad Buhari.

However, while replying him on Thursday, Pastor Ize-Iyamu, said through his spokesman, John Mayaki that: “Reno Omokri is a discredited man whose undying love for publicity and unrestrained appetite to feel, look and inform has put in the endless chase of relevance largely on social media, where he promotes falsehood, divisiveness, and other deplorable tasks his paymasters send him to do.”

“One of those falsehoods is the one that led to his topic in his most recent video.

“Adopting the overused tactic of failed propagandists, who credit their fictions and concocted stories to ‘unnamed sources’ in the Presidency and other seats of power, Reno lied that plan was afoot by the Federal Government to purportedly circumvent the choice of Edo people in the Governorship election scheduled for the 19th of September.”

Mayaki dismissed Reno’s claims that the Presidency was mounting pressure on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to rig the Edo election in favour of the APC, adding that apart from the President’s characteristic respect for institutional independence and protection of the integrity of the country’s democracy, Ize-Iyamu is a widely loved candidate who will overwhelmingly win the election without any compromise.

He said that unlike the PDP, where the imposition of Godwin Obaseki at the wee hours has caused an internal implosion that has set the party off track, the APC has established a strong dominance and advantage with Ize-Iyamu’s SIMPLE agenda and the candidate’s natural charisma as a unifier and bridge-builder.

“Only losers and a riven political party like the PDP plan to rig election. And it is on this note that we must take Reno’s comments as a foreshadowing and an inadvertent revelation of the plans of this rejected political party to use their trademark violence, disregard for law, and chaos to try to disrupt the election.

“Already, their godfather, Governor Nyesom Wike, who brandishes machetes at campaign grounds, is threatening fire and brimstone. Nigerians and Edo people must beware even as we repeat our call to INEC, the Police, and other relevant agencies to remain on guard,” he said.
