Senate Seat: Gov Emmanuel Sacks His Chief Of Staff

Published

on

Governor Udom Emmanuel has sacked his chief of staff, Mr. Ephraim Inyang-Eyen, his once powerful political trouble shooter.
Mr. Inyang-Eyen who served as commissioner for works in the first term of the governor and acquired a reputation for throwing muscles in the hunt of the governor’s foes was, however, considered brash by some other supporters of the governor.

He had recently commenced moves to position himself for the Eket South Senate seat, a position presently held by a lady.
It is not known if the governor who is rounding up his second term next year is also interested in the seat, but there were reports that the governor had asked him not to declare his interest in the seat. Inyang-Eyen, however, defied the order two days ago when he publicly showed his interest in the seat.

In the letter of dismissal issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Iyang-Eyen was ordered to hand over all government property in his possession.
The letter read thus:

SSG/AKS/S/200/VOL.1/406 22 February, 2022

Akparawa Ephraim Inyang-eyen,
Office of the Chief of Staff to Governor,
Governor’s Office Complex,
