Sanwo-Olu Sends List Of Cabinet Members To State Assembly — With 30% Women

Gov Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has today sent the list of members of his cabinet to the state house of assembly.

In a Twitter post, Gboyega Akosile, chief press secretary (CPS), to the governor said the list consists of 39 names with 30% women, youths, technocrats and politicians.

In accordance with the law, the president and governors are mandated to send the list of cabinet members to the legislature within 60 days of taking the oath of office for ratification. The deadline ends today.

In March, Babajide Sanwo-Olu was declared the  winner of the Lagos governorship election.

Sanwo-Olu polled 762,134 votes to win the election for a second term of four years. The Labour Party (LP) came second with 312,329 votes, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) trailed in third place with 62,449 votes.

In June, Sanwo-Olu BimboSalu-Hudeyin, a lawyer, as the secretary to the state government (SSG). Tayo Ayinde and Gboyega Soyannwo were appointed as chief of staff and deputy chief of staff respectively.

Jubril Gawat and Wale Ajetunmobi were also reappointed as senior special assistants to the governor on new  media, while Gboyega Akosile was also reappointed as the chief press secretary to the Governor
