The Centre for Physically-Challenged and Human Rights (CPCHR) has congratulated ACP Saheed Egbeyemi on his promotion, describing it as well-deserved.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Egbeyemi, a former Commander of the Lagos State Task Force on Environmental and Special Offences and the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), is among the 219 senior police officers recently promoted.
The Police Service Commission (PSC) elevated Egbeyemi from Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) to Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP).
In a congratulatory statement on Wednesday, the centre’s Executive Director, Mr Olatunde Owoeye-Wise, praised Egbeyemi’s professionalism and dedication to policing.
Owoeye-Wise stated: “CPCHR is pleased to felicitate ACP Saheed Egbeyemi on his well-deserved promotion in the Nigeria Police Force.
“This elevation is long overdue, given his track record and sterling performance as a dedicated and professional officer.
“ACP Saheed Egbeyemi has consistently prioritised grassroots and community policing in all the offices he has held, particularly in Lagos.”
He noted that Egbeyemi distinguished himself in various leadership roles, including as Chairman of the Lagos Task Force, Commander of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), and Commander of the Raider (D9) section at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Panti, Lagos.
The CPCHR director further commended Egbeyemi for his professionalism in law enforcement and for introducing innovative measures to enhance effective policing.
“CPCHR wishes ACP Saheed Egbeyemi success in his future endeavours.
“We hope he will continue his outstanding service and uphold the high standards he is known for in the interest of national security,” Owoeye-Wise added.
NAN reports that the latest round of promotions, finalised during the PSC’s plenary session on Tuesday, includes 26 ACPs promoted to Deputy Commissioners and 23 Chief Superintendents of Police, including Egbeyemi, elevated to ACP.
Additionally, 170 Assistant Superintendents of Police were promoted to Deputy Superintendents (DSPs).
