After releasing star-studded ‘Afrobeat Mix’, Major Lazer to perform in Nigeria
Major Lazer, an American electronic dance music group, is billed to perform in Nigeria on October 5.
The group is composed of record producer Diplo, and disc jockeys Jillionaire and Walshy Fire.
The concert will be the group’s first performance in Nigeria.
Tagged ‘Major Lazer SoundSystem Live’, the upcoming concert will take place at Hard Rock Beach, Lagos.
Bayo Fatoba, Head of U-Live Nigeria, organisers of the concert, said: “We are thrilled to be putting together such a unique event which will see Major Lazer visit Nigeria for the first time.
“Also set to perform are some of Nigeria’s finest mashup DJs who will share the stage with Major Lazer.
“This is an amazing opportunity for Nigerians to be part of a unique experience which includes an unrivalled display of lights and sound.”
Major Lazer recently released a new project called ‘Afrobeats Mix’.
The 17-track record is packed with collaborations with Burna Boy, Mr. Eazi, Nasty C, Raye, Kizz Daniel as well as hit songs by Davido and Niniola.
Following the release of ‘Afrobeat Mix’, Major Lazer released a statement saying it is inspired by African culture, noting that “we wanted to bridge our music with all these new sounds and genres coming out of the continent”.
