Founder of Toyosi Akure Foundation (TAF), Dr Toyosi Akure, based in the United States has called for restraints on the part of the teeming Nigerian youths ahead of the nationwide protests against the government, planned to commence tomorrow.

The Houston, Texas based TAF is reputed for offering humanitarian services to the less privileged in Yagba area in Kogi State. The Foundation’s decade-long ihumanitarian services have impacted the underprivileged in Nigeria especially in the areas of primary school education, widows, water infrastructure and sports development supports.

Akure who noted that he understood the concerns that have led to the calls for protests and feels the pulse of the nation at this critical point of galloping inflation from his US base, however advised against any form of violent protests, which, according to him, is inimical to the progress attained in the face of the economic challenges by the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, since being on the saddle about 14 months ago.

Akure stated on Wednesday: “I think every citizen has the right to protest, especially when it’s a peaceful demonstration aimed at drawing our leaders’ attention to the pressing challenges Nigerians are faced with. it’s important to remember that while hardships are real, we should support our government’s efforts to find solutions rather than resorting to protests and rage. Change takes time, and we must stand together as Nigerians to uplift our country. Let’s focus on constructive dialogue and cooperation to overcome these difficulties, rather than giving up on the progress we can achieve together. The president is doing an excellent job, especially considering the economy was already on a declining path that could have been far worse. There is room for improvement, and I believe that these calls for protest will convey a powerful message to our leaders: that their best efforts are insufficient in the face of these overwhelming hardship. My message isexpecially to my fellow Nigerian youths, the future of our dear motherland”.

He expressed optimism that the Nigerian nation will rise, emerging stronger and better from the current challenges posed by addressable economic difficulties.
