Protesters Storm Lagos Assembly Over Land Grabbing
Residents of Oworo on Tuesday staged a peaceful protest to the Lagos State House of Assembly over alleged demolition of properties in the area.
The community expressed their pain saying the demolition of their houses had adversely affected their well-being.
Hon. Akinsanya Nureni, who addressed them, disclosed that the ad hoc Committee set up by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, to look into their complaint had sat over the petition and even visited the community.
Akinsanya, who addressed the protesters with his colleagues including Hon. Kehinde Joseph and Hon. Apata Samuel, said:, “We have spoken to your representatives to produce evidence for the affected property in question to be able to request for compensation on your behalf where required.
“Please, let us do our job and we will get back to you,” he said.
