Prominent Obidient Member, Benjamin Kuti, Admits Deception, Steps Down As President Of Nigerians In UK community Over £100k Fraud Allegation

Top Obidient member in the Uk, Mr. Benjamin Kuti, popularly known as Oluomo of Derby, a prominent supporter of Peter Obi campaign group, has admitted to guilt in a £100,000 fraud controversy and stepped down as President of the Nigerians in the UK community (NIUK).

Kuti, who actively campaigned for the Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 election, cited a lack of “absolute accountability and transparency” as the reason for his resignation.

He took full responsibility for the events that unfolded over the past couple of years.

In a statement on his social media handle, Kuti expressed regret for his actions, saying, “I regret my lack of absolute accountability and transparency to the community.” He also apologized for his lack of transparency and accountability, wrong statements, decisions, and actions that disappointed the community.

Kuti announced that he would hand over the presidency to a newly elected president once the community schedules elections.

He promised to refund all the “stipends” he received from the community funds by March 2025, although the exact amount of the stipend is unclear.

The embattled former president appealed for a second chance to prove his commitment to the NIUK community.
