Platform Capital/Duport Midstream Company Limited: CAC Denies Shareholder Claim of Onile-Ere …Akindele Is Being Victimised-Sources

Contrary to a story by an online news platform, the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has denied the claim that Mr Tunde Onile-Ere is a shareholder of Platform Capital or Duport Mainstream Company Limited.

It was revealed that all the claims against Dr. Akintoye Akindele by the alleged agents of Mr. Tunde Onile-Ere, where it was alleged that the former had a case to answer on the organisation in the online article, are not viable and are useless.

“Therefore, Onile-Ere’s further claims that there are “multiple petitions and complaints against Akindele which disclose allegations of illegality, disregard for corporate rules and corporate governance, and other allegations bordering on potentially criminal conduct must be questioned and surely can not hold any validity,” CAC was quoted to have said.

It was further stated that “it is alarming that Mr Onile-Ere asks the public to “disregard alleged peddling of falsehoods,” when he is also peddling inaccurate information about his shareholding in Platform Capital or Duport Midstream Company Limited.”

Sources revealed that at Duport Midstream “Dr. Akindele has supported the ongoing investigation as he has nothing to hide and is not obstructing the any audit of the company.”

In addition, according to well placed sources, “Dr. Akindele is still being illegally detained contrary to the article’s claim that he has been released.”

It had been alleged in the report that “the facts of the matter are that there are multiple petitions and complaints against Akindele which disclose allegations of illegality, disregard for corporate rules and corporate governance, and other allegations bordering on potentially criminal conduct. We are aware that the police is currently investigating these allegations.”

It was added that “documents filed in court and with the pertinent authorities disclose the true facts. It is therefore ridiculously shocking that Platform Capital suggests that the holding of majority shareholding in a company entitles one to disregard rule of law and corporate governance.

“Concerned shareholders of the company are respected professionals in various fields with enviable and spotless track records. The company is of the firm position that if Dr. Akindele has no case to answer or nothing to hide, he will confidently embrace the ongoing investigation and forensic audit of the company’s financial records as authorised by the Board since October 2022.”

However, all these were said to be contrary to the latest facts on the matter and that “the last has not been heard of the controversial issue,” while “Mr. Tunde Onile-Ere and his agents are urged to thread softly as they will soon be indicted and would have to face the full wrath of the law soon.”
