Oyo NUJ Cogratulates Olumuyiwa Popoola As He Becomes Member Of The Nigerian Academy Of Letters

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council has congratulated Olumuyiwa Popoola on his admission as a Member of the Nigerian Academy of Letters (NAL).

Professor Olumuyiwa Popoola, an erudite scholar and the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo is a Professor of Journalism, Communication and Media Studies.

He was taken by providence to the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where in 1999, he bagged Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) Hons in Mass Communication, with First Class and won the prizes for the best graduating student in the department, and the best final year student in the Faculty.

Subsequently, he obtained a Masters of Science (M.Sc) in Mass Communication at the University of Lagos.

In Nsukka, he earned the University teaching assistantship award and was recognized for recording the best performance on the programme.

His persistent thirst for knowledge, hardwork and excellence was crowned at the University of Ibadan, where he was awarded Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Media and Cultural Studies.

At various times, Muyiwa Popoola has been the Head of Department of Communication and Media Studies, Director of Media Center, Dean of Faculty of Social Sciences, and Member of the Governing Council, amongst others.

Muyiwa Popoola is happily married with children.
