The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Oyo State Chapter, has appealed to parents to release their girls aged 9-14 for the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) vaccination, recently flagged off by the state government.

In a statement by NAWOJ Chairperson, Mrs. Omolola Alamu which was made available to newsmen by the Association’s Secretary, Eniola Adeaga, Alamu encouraged parents to disregard myths and misconceptions about the Human Papiloma Virus vaccine but seek clarification from health professionals if they have any question or concern.
According to Mrs. Alamu, the HPV vaccine is crucial in preventing cervical cancer in women, making it essential for girls to receive the vaccination at an early stage.
To ensure equal access, Mrs. Alamu urged health professionals in charge of the vaccination program to take the vaccines to schools across the state, ensuring no girl child is denied the opportunity to receive the life-saving vaccine.
