ONOKPASA HAILS SUPREME COURT ORDER ON CURRENCY CHAOS
Lawyer and public affairs commentator, Jesutega Onokpasa, has applauded the Supreme Court order halting the banning of old naira notes.
According to Onokpasa, who is also a member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Presidential Campaign Council, “The currency chaos is now an existential threat to this country.
“Not only must the use of the old notes continue as the Supreme Court has ordered, the economically illiterate restrictions on withdrawals must be immediately reversed.
“It is seriously damaging businesses and ruining lives across this country, indeed, to a most alarming degree.
“People are actually dying and most needlessly so just because they can’t access their own hard earned money.
“Nigeria simply lacks the connectivity and allied communications infrastructure for Godwin Emiefele’s fanciful cashless economy as we can all now see.
“Nigerians don’t deserve torture from institutions of government and that is precisely what the Central Bank of Nigeria is doing to the citizens of this country.
“This insanity must stop right now” he asserted.
