Olubadan Donates Cow To Oyo NUJ Correspondent Chapel For Christmas
The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji has donated a cow to the correspondent chapel of the Nigeria Union of journalists, (NUJ) Oyo State for the celebration of Christmas.
This was contained in a statement by the secretary of the chapel, Comrade Dare Adeogodiran, which was made available to members of the chapel via the whatsapp platform.
While speaking about the gesture of the highly respected first class monarch, his Personal Assistant and spokesperson, Mr. Adeola Oloko hinted that the gesture was to show that Oba Adetunji identified with members of the press, who he described as parts of the pillars behind the successes of his kingdom.
Oba Adetunji, while praying that God will grant members of the chapel a merry Christmas and prosperous New Year, advised the journalists to embrace investigative reporting as their priorities so as to be distinguished from junk reporters.
“I have no doubt that journalists in Oyo State are truly pacesetters, but I still want to implore them to intensify more efforts to remain the best in the country,” he said.
