Ogbomoso Crisis: How Oyo State Police Reconciled Soun, Chief Imam

The Oyo State Police Command has intervened in the crisis between  Soun of Ogbomoso land, Oba Ghandi Olaoye and the Grand Chief Imam of Ogbomosoland, Shaykh, Dr. Talhah Ayilara.
Recall that Oba Olaoye had been at loggerheads with Imam Ayilara for traveling for the holy pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia without informing the monarch.
The meeting, observers believe, came at the right time as the two parties reportedly bore out their minds, saying that the meeting was quite revealing and the outcome fruitful.
A report by the Muslim Peace Initiative revealed that Oba Ghandi had started taking the Imam as a son “when some aggrieved Muslim leaders started poisoning the Kabiyesi’s mind against the Imam.”
The group added that many fake news and hate speeches were flying around to cause disaffection and acrimonious relationships between the monarch and the Imam.
“Many things were recently known for the first time by the duo of the monarch and the Imam that were shockingly untrue.
“At last, the two parties are ready to embrace peace. It’s quite disturbing to know that Muslims, particularly prominent Muslims and scholars, were the ones interested in the removal of the Imam and not the Oba Ghandi himself. Honestly, if you listened to the Kabiyesi, he wasn’t interested in removing the Imam.
“The Muslim leaders may meet with the Kabiyesi very soon, and normalcy will be restored. There is no point mentioning or showing faces of those behind the removal of the Imam.
“There is a need to make peace with everybody. The Imam has a lot to do, and he has given assurances that he will normalize relationships with the king and everybody in Ogbomoso,” they stated.
