ODA Inaugurates New Executives in North America
In a bid to unite all Okun sons and daughters worldwide, the Okun Development Association (ODA), the premier Okun advocacy organization, has announced the emergence of new Executives of the Association in North America.
All Officials and the members of ODA comprise of illustrious sons and daughters from the length and breadth of Okun land based in Canada and the United States of America.
National President of ODA, Barrister Femi Mokikan announced this in a statement made available to Radio Kogi News in Lokoja on Sunday.
According to the Statement, “We therefore want to inform the press and the general public that the Okun Development Association North America (ODA-NA) has elected its first set of executives in North America.”
“Dr. Lawrence Akin-Adeyemi, who is currently retired from active career as a former Professor at the University of Washington, Seattle and Central Washington University, Ellensburg, Washington was unanimously elected as it’s President. He had worked for public sector agencies as a Project Engineer and Senior Project Manager and Public Infrastructure Management Professional. With the interest of African immigrants in mind, he has also been a former publisher of a monthly newspaper, the African Forum News (AFN) based in Seattle, Washington.”
Other elected executive are: Professor Victor Oyinbo, Vice President, Dr. Adeolu Ireyomi, General Secretary, Mr. Logbon Omopariola, Assistant General Secretary and Dr. Gloria Ajayi as Treasurer.
The rest are: Dr. Funmi Bolonduro, Financial Secretary, Pastor Lanre Ejibunu, Publicity Secretary, Pastor Victor Hambolu, Auditor, while Barrister Tunde Aribido is the Legal Adviser.
Dr. Akin Adeyemi in his post election speech said ODA-NA stands to be a powerful non-partisan voice of advocacy in advancing the interests of Okunland and ODA-NA in diaspora.
He further stated that the importance of coming together for the benefit and development of Okunland with all hands-on deck is beyond mere mentioning.
“As Okun people, if you think you should stand by the sideline and watch, who then should lift us up?” “Let us rise together to this occasion, because we can!” He reiterated.
