NPFL Week 7 Review: Rangers go top, as MFM fall to Heartland
Enugu Rangers are now top of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), after they crushed Akwa United 3-0 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu.
The home side took the lead in the 27th minute, thanks to Bobby Clement’s strike. Tope Olusesi turned home a cross in the 52nd minute, before Chisom Egbuchulam completed the rout in the second half.
Rangers now have 14 points from seven matches.
Former leaders, MFM FC, lost 1-0 to Heartland at the Dan Anyiam Stadium. Fortune Omoniwari scored the only goal of the encounter.
In other matches, Wikki Tourists defeated Niger Tornadoes 1-0 at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, to move to 6th place in the NPFL and Plateau United also saw off Lobi Stars 2-1 at home.
IfeanyiUbah FC lost 2-1 to El-Kanemi Warriors, while Shooting Stars pipped Rivers United 1-0 at home.
