NPFL Match Day 19: Plateau United reclaim top spot, Akwa United beat MFM
Plateau United are back on top of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) table, after a 3-0 win over Katsina United at the Rwang Pam Stadium in Jos on Wednesday.
Reuben Bala, Kabiru Umar and Jimmy Ambrose scored for the home side as they clinched a comfortable victory.
Plateau United now have 34 points with two games in hand.
MFM FC continued their poor form on the road, after they lost 2-0 to Akwa United at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo. They have now lost six of their last seven away games.
El-Kanemi Warriors beat ABS 1-0 in Maiduguri, Enyimba also defeated Remo Stars 1-0.
FC IfeanyiUbah fought back from a goal down to see off Shooting Stars 2-1 in Nnewi, while Kano Pillars suffered their third straight defeat after going down 1-0 to Niger Tornadoes.
Lobi Stars’ Anthony Okpotu scored a hat-trick to seal a 3-1 victory over Sunshine Stars and Abia Warriors defeated visiting Wikki Tourists 2-0.
