Hon. Khairat Animashaun-Ajiboye, a prominent member of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and a seasoned public administrator, has issued a stern warning that nobody should underestimate President Bola Ahmeed Tinubu.
Animashaun-Ajiboye’s statement came amidst the controversy surrounding the endorsements of President Tinubu’s son, Seyi Tinubu, for the 2027 Lagos governorship election. This development has sparked intense debate among key political players vying for the control of the state.
According to Hon. Animashaun-Ajiboye, people should not take President Tinubu or his wife for granted simply because of their long-standing relationships or political history.
She emphasised that their familiarity with the President and his wife does not necessarily make them better equipped to cater to the needs of the multitude, various tribes, and the interests of Lagos State.
The statement of Hon. Animashaun-Ajiboye, who has a track record of promoting unconventional leadership and community development initiatives, is believed to be a reminder that the influence and reputation of President Tinubu should not be underestimated, especially in the context of Lagos State politics.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is working round the clock with his team for good and impactful governance in the country and all-inclusive leadership for all and sundry.
‘The endorsement campaign is a launch of their youthful exuberance and a plot to undermine President Tinubu.
“For your information, the Lagos APC has distanced itself from the unfolding endorsement drama, insisting that the 2027 governorship election is not on its agenda.
“The focus is on the forthcoming Congress and Local Government Elections in 2025, urging members to prioritize unity and progress,” she said.
Hon. Khairat Animashaun Ajiboye reiterated that Lagos leadership is not for every leader or ally of a leader.
She said that this time, Lagos State deserves a selfless, younger, and a real Lagosian, who can relate to the struggles of the poor, the challenges of the middle class, the hopes of the business community, and the aspirations of partners in progress who want a prosperous Lagos State.
