Nigeria-Britain Association Honours Sarafa Ishola For Meritorious Service To Fatherland

For his brilliant performances and exemplary services to his home country Nigeria, and various political positions that he has held, the Abeokuta, Ogun State-born Nigerian High Commissioner to Britain, Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Ishola was honoured by the Nigeria-Britain Association over the weekend.

The President of the Association, Sola Oyetayo, while presenting the award to Ambassador Sarafa in London recently, said that the Association considered it necessary to identify with his excellent and meritorious service to Nigeria and for going extra miles to promote the national interest of the country
Speaking further, Oyetayo said, “on behalf of the Nigeria -Britain Association, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts  for how you challenged us to evolve strategies and road map, you evaluated it and you believe in us and gave us the kind of support that we did not receive from any High Commissioner to the United kingdom in recent years.”
Oyetayo noted that the Ambassador’s assistance on innovative development plans among Nigerians has improved the socio-economic prosperity and status of Nigerians in the United Kingdom as he has had a fulfilling professional and public career, which he said stands him out as a nationalist.
A statesman of note, whose management exploits have been popularly applauded at home and abroad, Sarafa Tunji Ishola is a former Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government, former Secretary to the Ogun State Government and former Minister of Mines and Steel in the administration of the late president Umar Musa Yar’Adua.
