New Olu Of Warri Named Ogiame Atuwatse III

The new Olu of Warri who was crowned at a festive ceremony in Ode-Itsekiri on Saturday, August 21, 2021 has taken the name of Ogiame Atuwatse III.

The ceremony was witnessed by a cross-section of Nigeria’s most eminent persons with President Muhammadu Buhari being represented by the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege.
Also present was the governor of Kebbi State, Senator Atiku Bagudu who came as a dear friend of the recently deceased father-in-law of the new monarch, Captain Hosa Okunbo.

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Ovie Agas who said that the governor was the same day celebrating the passage of his father who died a few months ago. Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo was among top dignitaries at that ceremony at Owa-Alero.

Mr. Agas lauded and called on the Itsekiri people to cooperate with the digital monarch.
