NAFDAC Uncovers Large Counterfeit Drugs In Idumota Market

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has uncovered a large stash of fake and unregistered drugs in Idumota, Lagos.
NAFDAC operatives swooped in on the location, confiscating substantial quantities of counterfeit Cocodamol and GSK Ampiclox, as well as other illicit pharmaceutical products.
The agency’s swift action is part of its ongoing efforts to rid the market of counterfeit and unregistered drugs, which pose a significant threat to public health.
Further investigation revealed that the seized items included Benxhexol-5 tablets, cleverly packaged in cellophane sachets, likely intended for further processing and labelling with fake NAFDAC registration numbers.
