My Second Term In Office To Witness More Dividends Of Democracy Says Abiodun

Still basking in the euphoria of his election as the Governor of Ogun State for the second term, Governor Dapo Abiodun of the state has promised to give more dividends of democracy to the people.

This is contained in a statement released by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Kunle Somorin, where the Governor expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the people of Ogun State.

“Though the election was keenly contested, my re-election came to me as a sign of good tidings and vote of confidence in my administration by the people of Ogun State. I hereby promise more dividends of democracy to the people during my second term in office.

”In my second term, I will ensure the completion of several projects aimed at improving the standard of living of the people of the state as well as promote the economic prosperity of the state,” he said.

Governor Dapo Abiodun defeated his closest rival, Hon. Ladi Adebutu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with 13,915 votes at the just concluded governorship election.

According to the final result released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prince Dapo Abiodun of the APC scored 276,298 votes to beat Ladi Adebutu of the PDP, who scored 262,383 votes to come second, while Mr. Biyi Otegbeye of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) scored 95,754 votes to come third.
