Minister In Trouble With Staff Over Unpaid Five Months Salaries
One of President Buhari’s ministers currently eyeing the governorship seat of his state, is in trouble with his workers.
It was gathered that the minister, a Muslim who hails from the Southwest, has been having a running battle with his aides who complained of not being paid their monthly salaries for five months.
Mid last year, we learned, one Olubodun, his personal assistant resigned for the same reason. Others who waited hoping the minister would have a change of habit were reportedly disappointed, as after paying them about two months after the resignation of the PA, he stopped paying until date.
“None of us have received salaries and other entitlements for five months now,” squealed one of the minister’s aides.
Besides, the bearded minister was also accused of owing a certain contractor who had since completed the job given him.
It was gathered that when the staff threatened showdown with him, the minister reportedly begged for more time and he promised to make them happier if they could support him in his bid to become governor in 2019.
