Makinde Mandates Civil Servants To Wear Traditional Attires On Thursdays …Leads By Example
In a move aimed at promoting Yoruba cultural heritage, Oyo State Governor ‘Seyi Makinde has introduced a new dress code policy for civil and public servants.
The policy requires all government employees to wear native attire with a touch of traditional Aso oke fabrics every Thursday.
This directive is in addition to the existing policy of wearing native attire on Fridays. The goal is to boost cultural awareness and appreciation among government workers and the general public.
Aso oke, a traditional Yoruba fabric, is an integral part of Yoruba culture and heritage.
By incorporating this fabric into their attire, civil servants will be showcasing their cultural identity and promoting the rich heritage of the Yoruba people.
This initiative is expected to have a positive impact on the state’s cultural landscape, as it will help to preserve and promote Yoruba traditions and customs. It may also inspire other states to follow suit and promote their own cultural heritage.
