Two chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State have urged Nigerians to give the party a chance in 2027.

Chairman of the party in Ifako/Ijaiye Local Government, Prince Muftau Oyelekan aka Alaga and its Chairman in Alimosho LGA, Alhaji Isiaka Shodiya stated this at an event in Ifako Ijaiye on Thursday.

The event was organised by Diadem and Ifako/Ijaiye PDP to celebrate Nigeria at 64 and launch 100,000 ideological organic members within the LGA.

With the theme; “Ideological Democracy as Against Palliative & Deceptive Politics,” the event held at Tamina Event Centre, 196B Gudugba Bus Stop, Iju Road, Lagos.

In his comments, Prince Oyelekan said that there is hope for the “PDP by the grace of God come 2027.”

He stressed that the party will deliver Ifako Ijaiye to the PDP, while urging the people to try another party, which he said is the PDP.

“Go to Ondo State during the time of Olusegun Mimiko, and Osun State during the time of Olagunsoye Oyinlola and Oyo State during the time of the late Chief Also Akala under the PDP, you will see what they all did.

“Go to Oyo State now, and see what the PDP government is doing there. You will see changes when the PDP gets to power in Lagos State and in Nigeria in 2027,” he said.

Also speaking, Alhaji Isiaka Shodiya commended the Ifako/Ijaiye PDP for what they were doing, adding that it would be great if they could get 100,000 organic members for the party.

“It would be great. Politics, in Nigeria of today has been monetised by some politicians who would will tell you that you have collected money and you cannot hold them responsible for whatever happens.

“We want to get the people that want to vote based on their conscience. I want to thank the people of Ifako Ijaiye for putting something like this together at this time when there is no money.

“I am here to copy from them and I will go back home to get this kind of organic members,” he said.

Shodiya stated that if the people should ask some people in power to deliver on their electoral promises, they would tell them that they have collected money during elections and that they couldn’t give them anything.

The event was organised by Dayo Kayode, a socio-political technocrat and aviation expert.
