Lagos Deputy Governor, Party Chieftains, High Chiefs, Others, Honour Kemi Nelson One Year After Death

Dignitaries from all walks of life, including Lagos Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, Chief of Staff to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the state, Mr. Tayo Ayinde, Lagos high chiefs, chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC), family members, well wishers and several others gathered at “The Garden” located at number 8, Bayo Kuku Road, Ikoyi, Lagos on Monday July 17, 2023 in memory of the late Yeyesewa Titilola Olukemi Nelson, who died exactly a year ago.

The saying that “sweet indeed are the memories of the righteous” came into fore as all the speakers at the event recalled the days of the former Lagos Commissioner for Establishment, Training and Job Creation, who they said did her best for humanity through her humanitarian activities and assistance to the poor and needy.

As a politician, Yeyesewa Kemi Nelson was remembered as the rallying point for the women in the party, while her days as the Deputy National Women Leader and South West Zonal Women Leader of the APC, were remembered as one of the best moments of party in the country.

Yeyesewa Kemi Nelson is survived by her loving husband; Mr. Adeyemi Nelson, and wonderful children; Abayomi & Titilope Nelson, Oluwole and Adetoun Popoola, and Adetunji Nelson.

She is also survived by amiable grandchildren including; Oluwafayokunmi Popoola, Oluwafeyikemi Popoola and Oluwafirewamiwa Nelson.

All the guests at the event were unanimous in saying that “Kemi Nelson was a colossus, an enigma, she was full of milk of human kindness and her kind is rare to find in this part of the world.”
