JUST IN: We’re Yet To Sight Moon In Nigeria, Fasting May Continue – Sultan

The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) has announced that fasting may continue on Sunday, as the moon has not been sighted in Nigeria, signaling that the month of Ramadan has not yet concluded.
The declaration was made in a statement issued on Saturday, signed by the Secretary-General, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede.
NSCIA is led by His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar.
In the statement, the NSCIA called on Muslims to search for the crescent moon of Shawwal on the 29th of Ramadan.
The statement emphasized that if the crescent is sighted in accordance with the established moon-sighting and verification protocols, the Sultan would declare Sunday, March 30, 2025, as the 1st of Shawwal and the day of Eid-ul-Fitr.
