Joe Ajaero: Let Us Stop Indulging Nonsense

It was Joe Ajaero as an individual that was invited by the Nigeria Police Force for questioning and not the Nigerian Labour Congress as an organization. The basis for which he was invited for questioning is completely outside labour dispute and therefore the NLC cannot be used to shield him from the investigation. It remains an allegation and everyone is expected to attend to any allegation.

The line should be drawn between an individual complicity or compromise and what he does as an official in any official capacity. Several head of several agencies have been alleged to have been involved in certain criminality, investigated and even prosecuted. No one attempted to shut down the nation on the basis of any temporary position privilege. And no one will be allowed to shut down the nation on personal grievances, not even the labour unions.

Therefore, any illegal declaration of industrial action by the labour union leadership on the ground of invitation, arrest or prosecution of an accused just because such is their member, such will be seen and treated as further treason.

In the interim, let it be repeated that Joe Ajaero is still a civil servant under Public Service Rule control. He is answerable to the PSR where any misconduct can be so treated accordingly. Therefore, if he refuses to honour police invitation, let the police authority report him to the Civil Service Commission for misconduct. He should be immediately suspended as a civil servant pending the conclusion of the matter. Enough of bastardization of the system. Let us stop indulging nonsense. Nigeria is bigger than anybody.

GOD IS HERE.
