Institute Of International Peace Leaders Endorses National Security Summit Of ASELGON

In continuation of the Agenda to meet strategic stakeholders, an agency with the United Nations, Institute of International Peace Leaders has endorsed the proposed National Security Summit of the Association of EX-Local Government Chairmen of Nigeria (ASELGON) and promised to play a major roles as they said that there is no any association that can do it better than ASELGON.

Ambassador (Dr) Kingsley Obasohan made this known, while receiving the National President of ASELGON, Hon Albert Asipa in his office at Jabi in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Asipa said that most of the insecurity affecting the nation started from the grassroots and that apart from the traditional rulers, local government chairmen can only proffer solution to the issue of insecurity in Nigeria.

Ambassador Obasohan, who is also the head of African region, advised the association not to relent on their efforts to organise first of its kind security summit as the association will face serious challenges.

He promised to assist the association in the area of exchange programme in any of European countries, the United States of America and Canada as the agency will facilitate the issuance of group visa to ASELGON members as quickly as possible, Agricultural support from NAMCOM and human capacity development.

Ambassador Kingsley Obasohan granted the National President’s request to address the members of ASELGON at the next National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting coming up later in the month of April.

In his own address, Hon Albert Asipa said that he believed that the agency will play a critical role in the Security Summit.

He assured the agency that ASELGON is fully ready and committed to the summit.
