Independence: Nigeria’ll Be Great If Govts Are Sincere, Says UK-Based PDP Chieftain, Abidikugu
A Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr Kazeem Adesina Abidikugu has declared that despite the current challenges facing Nigeria, the future of the country will be glorious and the nation’s lights will shine brighter with equity, justice, and righteousness on the part the people in government.
Abidikugu, a United Kingdom-based psychiatrist consultant, who was also an aspirant to Federal House of Representatives from Ibadan South East and North East Constituency, made the declaration in a statement on Sunday October 1, 2023 to mark the 63rd Independence anniversary of Nigeria.
The medical doctor maintained that it is no more a news that Nigerians are facing hardship with high prices of food stuffs, petrol and others, but noted that with commitment, sincerity, justice, equity and fair play on the part of the government, this challenges will be things of the past.
According to him, “As we are celebrating 63rd independence anniversary of Nigeria, the country is not a natural person, it is made up of people, men, women and children who are Nigerians, so, when we say that we celebrate the birthday of Nigeria, we are in fact celebrating the birthday of the Nigerian people wherever they may be in this great and vast nation and globally.
“The future of Nigeria will be far more glorious, more peaceful than her past, and so it shall be for every Nigerian, particularly the people of Oyo State. Every year will be more glorious, more prosperous and more peaceful than the previous by His grace.
“I will implore governments at all levels to fashion out strategies and policies that will cushion the effects of subsidy removal on the masses. Nigerians are facing numerous difficulties and we hope that with sincerity, equity, and justice, better days are ahead.
“Once again, happy independence anniversary to all Nigerians across the globe.”
