Ikeja gas leakage now under control –NEMA
The gas leakage in Ikeja has been brought under control, the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, has announced.
It stated that people could go about their normal activities.
The agency however said “traffic diversion around the areas are still in force.”
Earlier in the day, the agency raised the alarm over a reported gas leakage in Ikeja area.
The agency therefore warned residents and other people around the area against the use of naked fire.
Shops, NEMA had also warned, should not be opened.
The areas concerned it was said included Computer Village, Anifowose Street, Underbridge Awolowo Way, Oba Akran and Medical Road.
The warning is contained in a statement by the agency’s spokesman in Lagos, Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye.
