The call by a former General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division of the Nigerian Army, Maj Gen Danjuma Ali-Keffi (rtd), weekend, on President Bola Tinubu to probe the air crash that killed former Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Ibrahim Attahiru may have confirmed the claim that terrorists were behind the incident.

Ali-Keffi, who made the appeal in an interview with a national newspaper, alleged that the crash was linked to terror sponsors.
He lamented that no less a person than the chief of army staff and 11 senior officers died in a “suspicious” plane crash and that the matter was swept under the carpet, as the full report of the crash investigation was not made known
Recall that an alarm had been raised over the incident in September, 2021 by the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which handed down names of six (6) Nigerians and 47 other nationals who they said were sponsors of terrorism in Nigeria to former president Muhammadu Buhari.
The Nigerians named were:
1. Abdurrahaman Ado Musa
2. Salihu Yusuf Adamu
3. Bashir Ali Yusuf
4. Muhammed Ibrahim Isa
5. Ibrahim Ali Alhassan and
6. Surajo Abubakar Muhammad.
However, up till the end of the regime of former President Buhari, no one was questioned in relation to UAE’s claims.
The former president was alleged to have swept this huge claim bothering on human security under the carpet and looked away while the whole country was taken over by the deadly terrorist groups, ISWAP, Boko Haram, and various other affiliates.
Two years down the line, the UAE government is releasing list of terrorists sponsors (6 Nigerians) under Muhammed Buhari-led government and about two years into the death of Lt Gen Ibrahim Attahiru.
This is said to be a clue that the current government should work on.
