Hon. Adedeji Olajide Champions Tech-Driven Future With New ICT Hub In Ibadan

In alignment with this vision, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide, Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Digital, Information Communication Technology, and Cybersecurity, has announced the completion of a state-of-the-art ICT Hub at Oba Abass Aleshinloye Secondary School in Eleyele, Ibadan.

Facilitated in partnership with the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), the ICT Hub underscores Hon. Olajide’s commitment to a technology-driven Nigeria, fostering digital literacy and broadening students’ horizons. As articulated by Tolu Mustapha, Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, this project supports the Oyo State Government’s ambition to increase technological access and enhance educational outcomes, especially in the Ibadan North West/Ibadan South West Federal Constituency.

“This ICT Hub isn’t just about infrastructure; it’s a doorway to new possibilities,” Mustapha explained. “It’s designed to equip our youths with the skills they need to excel in a tech-centric future, thereby fostering a socio-economic environment that is innovative and self-sustaining.”

The hub, outfitted with modern computers, high-speed internet, and software tools, reflects Hon. Olajide’s aspiration to align Nigeria’s educational infrastructure with the demands of the digital age. “In today’s world, digital literacy is essential,” he noted. “Our students need these tools not just for academic purposes but to thrive in a technology-driven global economy.”

Beyond serving Oba Abass Aleshinloye Secondary School, the hub will benefit students from nearby schools as well, fostering a collaborative learning ecosystem. To maximize its impact, plans are underway for workshops and training sessions that will empower both students and teachers to fully utilize the available resources.
