Gunman flees on hoverboard after ‘shooting driver who offered him a lift’

A gun-toting hoverboard-rider shot a motorist who offered him a lift before getting away.

The victim had twice asked shooter if he needed a ride as he hovered along a road in the early hours of Thursday morning, police said.

On the second occasion the suspect became angry and asked the driver why he was following him, it was claimed.

He then pulled out a gun and opened fire, police say.

Officers were called at about 4:15am to the West Northwest Highway where the man had driven after being shot, reports the the Dallas Morning News .

Police said the suspect ran away on foot after the shooting.

“It is unclear if the suspect was on the hoverboard when he shot the victim,” a statement added.

The victim was taken to hospital with a gunshot wound to the right arm.

The gunman was described as a black man with dreadlocks and wearing a red shirt.
