‘Funke Akindele Rakes in N613M From ‘A Tribe Called Judah’ In Two Weeks … Movie Becomes Highest Grossing Film of 2023

Actress and Filmmaker, Funke Akindele’s latest film ‘A Tribe Called Judah’ has grossed more than half a billion in just two weeks of its cinematic release.
An excited Akindele, who took to Instagram to share the news, said the movie has grossed a total of ?613 million in the Nigerian box office.
She appreciated her fans, and the hordes of film enthusiasts that have remained consistent, sparing no dime on her projects since she came to limelight as the star of the popular movie franchise Jenifa.
A Tribe Called Judah has been shattering records since its nationwide cinematic release on December 15, 2023, having recorded an opening weekend gross of ?122 million – the highest the Nollywood industry has seen and is currently the highest-grossing movie for the year 2023.
Produced and directed by Akindele herself, the movie tells the story of a single mother and her sons, who all have different fathers.
The brothers band together to rob a company in order to save their mother, Jedidah Judah, played by Akindele.
Co-directed by Adeoluwa Owu, the cast includes Olumide Oworu, Tobi Makinde, Uzee Usman, Timini Egbuson, Jide Kene Achufusi, Ebele Okaro, Uzor Arukwe, Nse Ikpe Etim, Genoveva Umeh, Faithia Williams, Nosa Rex, Greg Ojefua, Ibrahim Yekini, Boma Akpore, Paschaline Ijeoma Alex, Etinosa Idemudia, Juliana Olayode and Yvonne Jegede.
