?Tens of commercial motorcyclists have protested in Garoua, Cameroon, against the removal of fuel subsidy in Nigeria, an indication that the fuel being subsidised in the country still find its way into the country through shaddy deals by officials in charge of fuel distribution and key players in the nation’s economy.

Commercial motorcyclists were seen in a viral video protesting the removal of petrol subsidy in Nigeria.

They were expressing their dissatisfaction in a blend of Fulfulde and French, and criticizing President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria.

Observers wondered what concerned Okada riders in Cameroon with what is happening in Nigeria if they were not benefitting from the wealth of the country through some alleged unscrupulous elements in the society.

“Those motley gang of motorcyclist in Garou, Cameroon are protesting the removal of subsidy on petrol in Nigeria.

“In a mixture of their local fulfulde and French, they critize and heap curses on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“If you are wondering why, it is because the petrol that the federal government of Nigeria borrows money to subsidize somehow trickles down to other West African states.

“With the removal, petrol prices have risen in a number of other West African countries leading to these threats.

“Why should Nigeria’s money be used for non-Nigerians when we don’t even have enough,” said a concerned Nigerian, Babajide Specs Fadoju, with the hashtag;
“We must #KickOutSubsidy to #SaveOurEconomy.”
