Fred Amata emerges new president of Director’s Guild of Nigeria
Fred Amata of the Amata dynasty has emerged the winner of the keenly contested president of the Directors Guild of Nigeria, DGN.
The prolific actor cum director was declared President-Elect of the guild, after beatings his close rival, Lancelot Imasuen with 5 votes to emerge the winner of the election. He got 48 votes, while Lancelot got 43 votes. Dickson Ireogbu and Kingsley Omefe 3 votes and 7 votes respectively.
Jubilation rented the air as soon as Fred was declared the winner of the election. Fred is to succeeds Andy Amenechi who resigned as the president of the guild yesterday.
Before the election, Amata who had contested three times for the position, assured his colleagues that he had what it takes to be the president and will get the guild a befitting secretariat, a functioning constitution and website in his first three months in office.
