The former Minister of Women Affairs, Jummai Alhassan a.k.a Mama Taraba has decamped to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from United Democratic party (UDP).
The former cabinet member of President Buhari’s administration made the announcement after a stakeholders meeting of the UDP held in her Jalingo residence, months after contesting in the 2019 Taraba State governorship election on the party’s platform.
Speaking after the meeting which was attended by representatives of UDP members from 168 wards across the 16 local government areas of the state, Mama Taraba said her defection to PDP was based on the outcome of the opinion poll during stakeholders meeting.
Daily Trust reported that she said she had no option than to go by the decision of the majority members of UDP and decamp to PDP.
