Fayose is making mockery of Ekiti State – Ex-Governor, Adebayo

A former Governor of Ekiti State, Otunba Niyi Adebayo has lamented that Governor Ayodele Fayose has turned Ekiti State into a pariah state as nobody in the country can be said to be happy with happenings in the state.

This was contained in a statement issued yesterday by the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Alhaji Mai-Bala Buni, which disclosed that the party is about reconciling members of the state chapter as a way of ensuring formidable opposition against what it described as a degenerating state of affairs in the state.

Adebayo, who opposed plan by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP-led administration to embark on the construction of an airport, stressed that the economy of the state was not supportive of a gigantic project like an airport.

His words, “Frankly speaking, even without paucity of fund, even with the way things were before, it is a surprise that anybody or any reasonable person will say that the priority for the state is an airport. It is definitely not an airport. We have an airport in Akure which is 45 minutes drive from our state capital. So building an airport in the state honestly is not a well taught out project,” he said.

Speaking further on the state of affairs in the state, the former Governor said: “I don’t think there is anybody in Nigeria who will say he is happy with what is happening in Ekiti state.

“Ekiti is being turned into a pariah state and it is unfortunate that this sort of thing is happening and that is why we who are in the opposition are putting our house in order and we believe that if we all stick together and make sure that the party is in stable state, we will be able to wrestle power back from the current governor (Ayodele Fayose) that is making mockery of our state.”
