Fayemi Donates N1million To Save Broadcaster’s Life, Visits Family

The Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has donated N1million to save the life of a popular independent broadcaster in Ekiti State, Lasisi Adeyemi, who is suffering from heart disease.

The broadcaster, who been hospitalized for about three weeks now, was diagnosed with heart disease at Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH).

The former governor, who also visited the family of the broadcaster in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital, encouraged them to have faith in God.

First son of the broadcaster, Adewale Adeyemi, told reporters on Tuesday that Fayemi also pledged to offset all hospital bills of the patient.

Adewale said: “It is true that Dr. Kayode Fayemi visited our family having heard about the condition of my father.

“We are using this opportunity to thank His Excellency, Dr. John Kayode Fayemi, for this great role he has played to help the family of Lasisi Adeyemi.

“We are using this opportunity to thank Dr. Fayemi for his gesture and we pray that God will continue to bless him.”
Professional colleagues on the aegis of Freelance and Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria (FIBAN) has launched an appeal fund to save their colleague.

Adeyemi has since been moved to a Lagos medical facility for further and better treatment.
