EPLF Vice President’3, Toluwani Rita Ojo-Lanre Olusoga, Engages Ogun Speaker and Deputy on Youth Development, Altruism, and Patriotism

In a strategic move to foster engagement, understanding, and collaboration between young leaders and the legislative arm of government, the Vice President’3 of Emerging Political Leaders Fellows (EPLF) in Nigeria, Toluwani Rita Ojo-Lanre Olusoga, with her team from The Heir Church, Abeokuta, on a courtesy visit to the Ogun State House of Assembly.
During the visit, Mrs. Ojo-Lanre Olusoga commended the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Olusegun Elemide, and his Deputy, Rt. Hon. Bolanle Ajayi, for their exceptional leadership and commitment to a people-centered legislative process. She acknowledged their role in positioning the Ogun State House of Assembly as a progressive and responsive institution that prioritizes the interests of its citizens.
According to Mrs. Ojo-Lanre Olusoga, the visit was aimed at enlightening and educating young people on legislative procedures, governance, and the intricate responsibilities of the State Assembly, which serves as the second tier of government. She emphasized that many Nigerians are unaware of the enormous work being carried out by legislators in shaping policies, making laws, and ensuring good governance.
She expressed profound gratitude to the Speaker and Deputy Speaker for their time, insights, and willingness to engage with the youth, stating that such interactions help bridge the gap between the government and the people.
In his response, Rt. Hon. Elemide welcomed the initiative, describing it as a strategic engagement that strengthens the bond between the House of Assembly and the public. He reiterated the Assembly’s commitment to being a voice for the people, stating:
“We are the ears of the people, the face of the people, and the bridge between the Executive and the people. Our doors remain open for meaningful engagements that promote good governance and civic participation.”
The Speaker further lauded Mrs. Ojo-Lanre Olusoga for her dedication to youth development and political enlightenment, acknowledging her impactful work since assuming office as the Vice President’3 of EPLF Nigeria. He described her as an exceptional leader with a clear vision for empowering young Nigerians to take active roles in governance and national development.
Also speaking, Rt. Hon. Bolanle Ajayi, the Deputy Speaker, praised Mrs. Ojo-Lanre Olusoga, describing her as a pride to womanhood and an emerging force in leadership. She encouraged her to continue her remarkable strides in mentoring young minds and fostering a culture of patriotism, altruism, and civic responsibility among Nigerian youth.
The visit concluded with a renewed commitment to sustained engagement between young leaders and the legislative body, with both parties agreeing on the need for continuous dialogue, mentorship, and collaboration in shaping the future of governance in Nigeria.
