Environment Commissioner Gets Chieftaincy Honour
Kogi State Commissioner of Environment, Hon Victor Adewale Omofaiye will this weekend be honoured with a chieftaincy tittle as Otunba Olugbayi of Ekinrin-Adde.
This great honor is coming at the instance of the highly respected Olu Adde of Ekinrin Adde, HRH, Oba Anthony Bamigbaiye Idowu, (Ahe Maworo 1)
Omofaiye, who is a noble some of Ekinrin-Adde Community, will be among the five noble people to be so honoured during the 27th Ekinrin Adde Cultural Day Celebration June 19.
Victor Adewale Omofaiye was born some years back at his home town, Ekinrin-Adde into a family that takes pride in humility and dedication to hard work.
His zeal for higher learning after his Primary and Secondary education drove him to Ahmadu Bello University Zaria.
He had his Youth service at the National Assembly and got his first employment as a legislative aide.
Due to his diligence in the discharge of duty, he was appointed as a senior legislative aide to senator Smart Adeyemi in the 7th Assembly.
His political career started from his tertiary institution days where he served at different capacities.
He served as the Director of socials Ekinrin-Adde student union in 1991, he also served in same position in Ijumu Student Union Ahmadu Bello University Zaria in 1994.
In the year 1996 he became the Public Relation officer (PRO), English Literary Association, ABU and President of English Literary Association still at Zaria in 1998.
Hon. Adewale Omofiaye was the Secretary of Ekinrin Adde Community Development Association, Abuja branch.
In the year 2008, he was elected into the legislative Council under Ijumu Local Government. While serving as councilor, he was the Deputy Whip, and Chairman of various committees.
Hon. Victor Adewale Omofaiye became a Distinguished Member of the kogi state House of Assembly representing Ijumu Constituency in the year 2015, He was later appointed as the Chief Whip of the house. During his stay in the house he sponsored numbers of Bills and Motions that benefited his constituents and Kogi at large.
Aside the numerous Bills and motions put forward by him, He also carried out various empowerment programs and provision of infrastructural facilities to various communities.
Hon. Victor Adewale Omofaiye’s Humanitarian and philanthropic gesture has earned him a couple of awards in and outside Kogi State.
Hon. Victor Adewale Omofaiye is also a Chieftaincy recipient of the Alara of Ogidi Kingdom and The Atunluse of Iyara Land.
Following his tremendous and remarkable achievements the young man was later appointed as the Commissioner of Environment in kogi state by his excellency, Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello.
He is married to a Mass Communicator and a business oriented daughter of Iyara land Mrs. Modupe Adefoluke Omofaiye and the marriage is blessed with lovely children.
