Enugu Police To Arraign Officer Who Shot Musician To Death In Court Today
The Enugu State Police Command on Monday said it will arraign Inspector Ozonwanji Joseph, the officer implicated in the fatal shooting of popular Ogene musician Okezie Chikezie Mba, widely known as Igbo-Jah in court today.
The incident occurred on October 25 as the musician was reportedly departing the police headquarters after a friendly visit. Details surrounding the shooting remain unclear, but it is alleged that Inspector Joseph discharged his rifle, striking Mba.
Following the shooting, Mba was rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead by medical staff. His body has since been moved to the morgue for preservation and autopsy.
