Emmanuel Naibei, Kenyan man wins Lagos city marathon
A Kenyan, Emmanuel Naibei has won the 6th edition of the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon.
Naibei defeated 299 athletes on Saturday morning to win the 42km race in 2 hours 11 minutes and 37 seconds and also claimed the grand prize of $30,000.
The race which started at the Stadium in Surulere in the wee hours of Saturday ended at the Eko Atlantic city on the Island.
Unlike previous years where over 100,000 participated in the marathon, only 300 athletes were allowed to participate in the 2021 edition due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
